Shock absorbers ensure safety
Potholes, bumps and dilapidated roads cause trucks, trailers and commercial vehicles to vibrate. Especially under full load, this can result in strong forces. Shock absorbers cushion these powerful swings and help to ensure that the wheels stay on the ground even in such situations. This contributes significantly to driving safety and of course also increases comfort – professional drivers will thank you for the high-quality PE shock absorbers!
How can you recognize defective shock absorbers?
Increased stress due to poor roads, but also road salt, frost and generally harsh weather conditions can lead to faster wear and tear. Defects and wear become apparent because, for example, driving over small obstacles is associated with strong vibrations or the vehicle swings out noticeably after bumps. You should act quickly now at the latest and visit a workshop to have a replacement part fitted promptly.
What types of shock absorbers are there?
There are basically two types of shock absorbers: pneumatic shock absorbers regulate the distance and keep it at the same level regardless of the load weight. The necessary air pressure is generated by a compressor that forces air through pneumatic lines. Hydraulic shock absorbers, on the other hand, have a design consisting of single and double tubes. Variant one is cheaper, but only the double pipes offer a long service life. You are welcome to discuss which type of spare part is suitable for your shock absorbers with our experts.
