The beginning
The beginnings of the family business reach back to 1947. At that time, the company Peters was founded in Ennepetal.
Generation change
With the death of Hermann Peters in 1967, Jürgen Freitag, nephew of the founder, takes over the management and leads the company in a new direction by specialising in spare parts for commercial vehicles along with worldwide sales.
Start of worldwide distribution
The PE brand has been registered internationally in 1979 and is one of the leading suppliers in the independent aftermarket.
New image, proven quality
On 2 May 2011, Hermann Peters GmbH & Co. KG changes its name and corporate design. With the change of name to PE Automotive GmbH & Co. KG, the PE brand is synchronised with the company name.
New logistics centre
In summer 2014, PE repositioned itself and bundled three previous locations in the new logistics centre in Wuppertal. 50,000 square metres of floor space and a state-of-the-art high-bay warehouse ensure fast spare parts availability and efficient processes.
BPW Group
PE Automotive has been part of the BPW Group since 1 January 2016 and has since been able to significantly expand its product range once again.
Taking over Monark as part of the whole
PE Automotive took over the retail business of Monark Automotive GmbH and the Monark brand on February 1, 2020. With top products, Monark ideally complements the PE range with vehicle electrics and lighting.
